Finally there is a good news comes from our Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'. On a press meeting he gave the good news to all the aspirants who are in the field of academics that TET Certificate Validity extended from 7 years to lifetime.

Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has today 3rd June, 2021 announced that Government of India has decided to extend the validity period of Teachers Eligibility Test qualifying certificate from 7 years to lifetime with retrospective effect from 2011.

The Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' also stated that the respective States/UTs will take necessary action to revalidate or issue fresh TET certificates to those candidates whose period of 7 years has already expired.

The NCTE Guidelines dated February 11, 2011 laid down that the TET will be conducted by the State Governments and the TET Certificate validity was 7 years from the date of passing TET. Qualifying the CTET or TET is one of the essential qualifications for candidates to be eligible for an appointment as a teacher in schools.

Earlier in October 2020, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had proposed to extend the validity of CTET and TET certificate to lifetime. The decision was taken during the 50th Meeting of the NCTE's General Body.
